Our coworker Jernej Ekar, who completed his PhD in 2024, successfully applied for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship, with the Ruđer Bošković Institute as the host institution. The project titled MATRIX-MeV will be centred around the optimisation of the MeV-SIMS (secondary ion mass spectrometry) method and its detection limits. The research at the RBI will primarily focus on applications in molecular biology and organic chemistry for imaging/mapping analyses. His MSCA project in Zagreb will be implemented in 2026 and 2027, as he is currently in his first postdoc at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste. In 2028, he plans to return to the F4 department to continue his doctoral and postdoctoral research through an ARIS-financed project as part of the reintegration process.
